Project background and summary
Jiangsu International Trust Co., Ltd. ("Jiangsu Trust") is a non-bank financial institution approved by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and the China Banking Regulatory Commission. Jiangsu Trust needs to add a complete set of Hang Seng business systems, data warehouse business systems, SAP business systems, consumer financial business systems, virtual desktops, etc. The original data center equipment has been used for many years and cannot meet the rapid growth of business systems. Therefore, it is urgent to upgrade the data center.

Challenges faced

Solution Overview
√ Add a C4506E switch and the original C4506E to form the core dual node of the data center.
√ Add two N5K switches and two C4506E core switches to interconnect to provide connections for the server.
√ Two new UCS FI 6296 fabrics were added to interconnect two N5K switches to provide storage links for servers.
√ Added 14 blade servers and 2 5108 blade boxes, which are connected to LAN and SAN respectively through the switch fabric. 
√ Added a 4-node UCS HyperFlex HX240 node to support 200 desktop virtualization requirements. 
√ Added a set of UCS Director for unified management of network, server, storage, virtualization, self-service application for virtual machines through UCS Director, automatic resource recovery

Project conclusion
◇ With Cisco UCS Director, unified management and deployment of servers, storage, networking, and virtualization are achieved.
◇ Through Cisco UCS Director, the self-service application of virtual machines in various departments was realized, and resources were automatically recovered.
◇ Compared with rack servers, Cisco B series blade servers save room space, reduce power requirements, and reduce heat dissipation and reduce room cooling costs.
◇ The entire UCS system uses a dual-node redundant architecture to avoid the hidden danger of a single node and a single link.
◇ The UCS system provides a minimum 10G network connection for the server, avoids the bottleneck of communication between servers, and provides a reliable network environment for the data center.
◇ N5K switches and UCS FI 6296 switch fabrics provide LAN and SAN networks for servers, reducing the number of data center equipment and making the architecture simpler and more stable.
◇ The Cisco UCS HyperFlex HX240 provides business support for a unified desktop, reducing procurement costs by approximately 15% and reducing service and management costs by 30%.
